Terms and Conditions

These terms apply when you use bodyquantification.com, register for a Body Quantification ("BQ", "we") course, use our online calculators or use the members area. By registering or using the site you agree to them. How we handle personal information and SI/AI is explained on our Privacy and SI/AI page. Body Quantification is a trade name (DBA) of Goldstandard Systems, Inc., an Illinois corporation.

ISAK courses and registration

Student acknowledgment: by registering for an official ISAK course and seeking an ISAK certification, you confirm that the registered student holds or is completing a university degree, or is seeking an accredited certification, in a relevant field. For ISAK Level 2, the student must hold a current Level 1 accreditation and have 40 profiles in ISAKMetry.

ISAK certification is awarded under ISAK's own rules and standards. Attending a course does not by itself guarantee certification.

We check each student's ISAK level and status before the course, and ISAK asks us to check every reaccreditation candidate with the ISAK Secretariat. To be certified, students also complete the profiles ISAK asks for after the course, within the time ISAK sets.

Course fees, dates, locations and what is included are shown on each course listing at the time you register.

Payment

Course fees are in US dollars and are paid in full at registration. We do not add sales tax to our courses or services.

You can pay by card or, where offered, PayPal, or pay over time with Klarna. If you choose Klarna, your payment plan is an agreement between you and Klarna under Klarna's own terms; we receive the full course fee. Any refund we give goes back through the way you paid, and for Klarna it reduces what you owe Klarna.

Measurement consent

Anthropometry courses involve measuring other people and being measured, including skinfolds, girths and marking landmarks with a skin pen. Before you can use BQ Members for your course, and before anyone is measured as a model, we ask you to read and sign our consent to anthropometric measurement. You are free to stop or withdraw from being measured at any time.

Models volunteer to be measured on our courses. A model under 18 may take part only with the signed consent of a parent or legal guardian.

Cancellation and refunds

Cancellations made 14 days or more before the course date are refunded in full, minus a 10% cancellation fee.

Cancellations made after that are given a transferable credit for a future Body Quantification course.

If we cancel or reschedule a course, you may choose a full refund or a transfer to another course date.

To cancel, write to support@bodyquantification.com with your name and the course.

Hosted courses

Courses we run at your organization ("Host a Course") are covered by the written agreement for that course. Where that agreement and these terms differ, the agreement applies.

Online calculators

Our calculators (including the 5-Way, Youth Growth and Wrestling Minimum Weight calculators) are tools for education, research and professional practice. Their results are estimates based on the measurements entered and the published equations they use, and they are only as accurate as those measurements.

Results are not medical advice or a diagnosis. The Wrestling Minimum Weight calculator is not an official weight certification; the state's certification system governs.

If you enter or save measurements for clients or athletes, including in My data, you are responsible for having their permission, or a parent's or guardian's permission for a minor, both to store their measurements and before you email their results to anyone. You can confirm this yourself or have them sign on the spot in My data. Please use My data only for measurement data and related files, not for medical records.

Reading values from a photo, file, recording or dictation uses super intelligence and artificial intelligence (SI/AI). SI/AI can misread a value, so always check the values it reads before you calculate. You are responsible for the numbers you accept. Our use of SI/AI is described on our Privacy and SI/AI page.

The calculators are offered as they are, and we may change, update or remove them at any time.

Members' own measurements

Members who measure their own clients or athletes, and use our calculators or My data to do so, act independently. They are not employees, agents or representatives of Body Quantification. Body Quantification provides software and teaching only: it does not take, check or supervise members' measurements, and it is not responsible for how members obtain consent, take measurements, store or share data, or interpret and use results, or for any decision made from them. Members are responsible for following the laws and professional standards that apply to them.

Members area

Member accounts are for one person. Keep your sign in details private and do not share member content outside your own work or study.

We may suspend an account that is misused.

Our content

The text, images, data sheets, reports, calculators and course materials on this site belong to Body Quantification or are used with permission. You may print and use our data sheets and templates for your own testing and study. Please do not copy, sell or republish our materials without written permission.

Links to other sites

Some pages, such as Equipment Links, point to other companies' websites. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, products or terms.

Limits of our responsibility

We work to keep the site, calculators and course information accurate and available, but we cannot promise they will always be error free or uninterrupted. To the extent the law allows, Body Quantification is not liable for indirect or consequential losses from using the site, the calculators or the members area, and our total liability for a course is limited to the fee you paid for it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The effective date at the top shows when they last changed. Registrations already made keep the cancellation terms in place when you registered.
